5 Signs It’s Time For a Website Redesign

 

If your website has any of the symptoms below, then it's probably a sign that your website needs to be redesigned.  So what are the 5 signs that your site needs a redo?

Your Website Looks "Dated"

Your website looks clunky, old, outdated, has animated gifs, or  Comic Sans as a font -  then it’s time for a redesign.  Modern websites are clean, balanced, have great use of white space, minimalistic, & are easy to navigate. A polished website clearly conveys a strong message and call to action on each page.

Your Website Is Not Mobile Friendly

If your website is not mobile responsive, you are breaking the mother of all Google’s rules!  This will hurt your SEO rankings and provide a negative user experience on mobile devices.

As of Feb. 2019, 60% of Google searches are done by mobile devices - double than it was only 5 years ago (WordStream).  Your website on mobile needs to be clean and easy to read. A design optimized for mobile has buttons large enough to be tapped onto without accidentally clicking on an element surrounding it.

Your Website Does Not Provide An Exceptional User Experience

If your users are confused about how to navigate your site or not even sure if they are in the right place, it’s going to turn them off and they will leave.  In this digital age, we have short attention spans when it comes to the online searches. We expect to find the information we are looking for quickly and to have information accessible when we need it. Some signs that your website visitors are confused is if you receive inquiries that people can’t find the information they need on your website!

Your Website Runs Really Slow

Google will recognize the slow load time and will penalize your website for slow speed.  Sometimes WordPress themes with all the bells and whistles have unnecessary plugins with clunky features that slow down the page speed.

Your Audience Has Changed But Your Website Hasn't

When you built your website it may have been appealing to your audience, but it's possible your audience has changed. If you have changed your business focus, changed your business model, or changed your services, then it's very possible your site does not appeal to your new customers. Your demographic may change over time and your website needs to reflect that.
